The way that you level up in WoW will depend on the type of character that you are playing as well as the side you choose, Alliance or Horde. For this wow leveling guide, we’re going to take a look at how to take your Human character from level 1 to 30 in the Alliance. While some of these tips may work for other races, you may need to have different information for some of the quests.

If you are looking for the ultimate wow leveling guide, then you should check out: The Ultimate WoW Leveling Guide

Getting Started

Once you’ve spend those hours setting up your game installation and created a character – you’re on level one. I assume that you play human character and the very first place you’ll start is Elwynn Forest in the North Shire Glade. To start with familiarize yourself with this area first. There are a few quests that you can pick on killing the wolves. You’ll notice that there are a lot of wolves running around the area.  Kill the wolves and keep at it until you finish the quest. You can keep killing them until you notice you’re at level three. That was not hard, was it?

Once you’ve reached level three, it’s a good time to repair any damaged items and equip your self with some new armor, which can be bought from vendors next to the Church building. This will sure help you on later. Having your items repaired is very much important. If you have damaged items on you, which you eventually will while completing quests, you get penalized with your character’s stats. Having your attack and defense stats on low level will make you easier to kill, as well as decrease damage that you while in combat.  You’re now ready to go on your first actual quest. It’s a good idea to select the quest: A Threat Within, and then its follow-up Kobold Camp Cleanup. Those simple quests will help you familiarize with World of Warcraft quest system. Doing quests is very important, as it gives you several benefits. First you get experience, which is the main factor in leveling. You notice that to reach the next level you must gather experience points. Another important value is money you get for completing quests. Money will help you pay repair costs and buy new items to help you in combat. After you’ve completed these quests, you’ll be ready to take on two more quests, Eagen Peltskinner and Wolves Across the Border.

Now you’re ready to level further. To get to level four, you may need to grind some more wolves until you have picked up 8 Though Wolf Meat items. You can also grind Kobold’s Vermins to get to level four. Notice that after you do some heavy mob bashing you’re items get damaged. Don’t forget to repair them promptly. Otherwise it will slow down your leveling process. Once you’re there, you’ll need to turn in your quests and then take the next one that is offered to you. Sometimes you have turned your quest, but still have some small amount of extra experience points left for the next level. To quickly level up to five, grind the Kobold Workers in the area. Don’t forget to gather all loot items you can get from grinding. Those items can be sold to a vendor for a small amount, but in return those money will help you repair your character’s items.

By completing the next seven quests you get, you’ll be advanced to level seven. This is not hard at all, isn’t it. Just note that the more you play World of Warcraft, the harder it’ll get to gather experience points for the next level. These quests are all quite easy and should not take more than a few hours at the very most to complete. It’s a good idea to grind whenever you can to help you move up even faster. It is easy, because every time you take on the next quest, you’ll have to run to some area. So don’t miss any grinding apportunity while you go to your next journey.

To get from level seven to thirty is a pretty straightforward process. Simply take all the quests that are offered to you and turn them in to get the follow-ups. The way questing system is set up in World of Warcraft, is that every time you run out of quests, the last quests you turn in will guide you to the next area. You can also grind to help your score increase and to earn more experience points. But remember one small thing – leveling with quests is always faster then by grinding. Untill you get to about level 60, doing quests and some small instances will increase your leveling speed.

However, you’re going to need to get some specific items if you want to level up quickly. We’ve included a list of these below;.

Items You Absolutely Must Have:

Although it’s very simple to get to this point, there are a few items that you will absolutely need to have to keep advancing quickly. Here’s what you need and where to find them:

Level Six – North Shire Valley

Kill the Defias Thug and collect 12 red burlap bandanas

Find Gerrick Padfoot. Kill him and loot his head.

Level Seven – Goldshire

Kill the Stonetusk Boars until you have 4 pieces of meat

Find Goldtooth. You will need to kill him and then loot the item named Bernice’s necklace.

Level Eight – Goldshire

The Gnome’s workshop in the Operation Recombobulation Quest contains a special chest that you will need to find. This is called Rumbleshot’s Ammo. Take this crate.

Level Nine – Yeti Cave

You will need to grind the Yeti’s until you have collected at least eight Wendigo’s Manes.

Go back outside and find the gnomes. Start grinding until you have collected eight Restablization Cogs and Eight Gyromechanic Gears.

Level Ten

Find Frosmane Hold and then after you have killed everything in sight, find the cave in the mountain above you. When you go inside, you’ll find a basket of Shimmerweed. Take the basket.
